Very interesting! Walmart is teaming up with Google and starting late September Walmart customers will be able to place orders using their voice on on Google Home devices, looks like potential competition with Amazon’s Alexa via Echo devices. Walmart will be making their products available on Google Express.
Just like placing voice orders with Alexa, Google Home devices will be able to reacll previous orders you have made and repeat the same order. It has not yet been decided if they will also offer subscriptions.
In an effort to compete more with Amazon Prime, which costs $99/year, Google Express will be removing their $95-a-year membership starting Wednesday, allowing shoppers to get free delivery within 1 to 3 days on orders as long as the minimum purchase is met.
