If you are still crying in your Target Cafe cups over never having Target RedPerks in your area, chin up. You may be getting another shot. Target is rebooting its customer loyalty program. Here’s what we know so far.
RedPerks aimed at rewarding loyal diehard Target shoppers. This new program seems to be taking aim at getting less frequent people to come shop at Target more.
The program, called “Target Red” is cited to launch in the Dallas and Fort Worth, TX areas in the month of April. The plan is eventually it will roll out across the country. The heart of the program is a 1% cash back reward on your purchases, which are redeemable on your next purchase.
The other facet of the program is FREE delivery from Target Restock a service similar to Amazon Pantry AND receive a 50% discount off Shipt, an unlimited same day grocery delivery service that is rolling out in some areas already. My area in Raleigh NC already offers Shipt.
The biggest drawback and part that had me hissing “boo” was all the benefits are available for us RedCard credit and debit card holders to use — except — the 1% off cash back is not available when using the RedCard. Remember RedCard gives you 5% off just about everything in store and at Target.com and offers FREE shipping.
All in all, I’m excited. What are your thoughts?
