It all started when Mike and Kelly Gallivan of Massachusetts started receiving boxes from Amazon they had no recollection of ordering. The items ranged from dog collars to humidifers. All are cheap items. Since October, the Gallivans have received about 25 boxes in all.
Ok, so they didn’t pay for the items so what’s the scam? It’s all a clever ruse to influence more buyers into purchasing products. The seller creates lots of fake accounts, sends their goods to random people. Once the package is delivered they are able to use that fake account to write a glowing 5 star review. It will say “verified buyer” on the review, boosting a buyer’s confidence in the validity of the review.
