Ground Beef — E-Coli Outbreak Is Spreading!
Please be careful! According to the CDC, an outbreak of E-coli has spread to 10 states. The culprit? Ground beef. At least 156 people have become sick, 20 have been hospitalized. While the CDC does not recommend at this time NOT eating ground beef, they do recommend proper food safety precautions such as safe handling and cooking thoroughly at the right temperature. As of now, over 160000 pounds of ground beef have been recalled. The states reporting illnesses are Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida and Georgia. The suppliers that recalled all that ground beef were Colorado Premium Foods in Georgia and Grand Park Packing in Illinois.
