Quotient Technology Inc., the Silicon Valley-based distributor of digital coupons and media, is expanding in New York.

The company, known mainly for its flagship site Coupons.com, agreed to acquire Crisp Media for $53 million.

“Crisp is a natural fit for Quotient as we expand our efforts in shopper marketing,” said Quotient president and COO Mir Aamir in a prepared statement. “We believe the power of our retail network and proprietary shopper data, combined with Crisp’s ability to create and deliver premium and effective mobile ads for CPG brands, puts us in a strong position as the industry rapidly shifts to digital.”
